This year I made sure I got down to the Notting Hill Carnival early, because it's the 60th anniversary and I wanted to show you something a bit different. Instead of jumping straight into the parade like most videos do, I got there right at the start, before any of the crowds, and walked you through the whole build up. You see the bands and floats getting ready, the food stalls setting up, and even a chat with the guys running the official carnival livestream. Once the parade actually kicked off I caught the first steel bands, the first calypso of the day, and then spent the rest of the video walking the food streets around Westbourne Park, All Saints Road, Portobello Road and Cambridge Gardens, showing you exactly what everything costs along the way.

If you're planning on going to Notting Hill Carnival yourself, whether that's this year or next, hopefully this gives you a proper idea of what it's actually like on the ground. I go through where the parade route starts near Westbourne Park, what the food prices are like for jerk chicken, patties and curry goat, where to find the toilets (trust me, you'll want to know), and just generally what the atmosphere is like before it gets properly busy. It's one of the biggest street festivals in the world and honestly one of my favourite days of the year to film, so I hope this Notting Hill Carnival 2026 vlog gives you a good feel for the 60th anniversary even if you couldn't make it down yourself.
